Version 1.31F
- Fixes
- No longer corrupts unload files when the amount of data unloaded is an
exact multiple of 512 bytes.
2004-03-08
Version 1.30F
- Other Changes
- Now searches for schemes on the PC by looking for only LDR files instead
of SCM files and LDR files. This has halved the time taken to
get the list of scheme names from the PC when selecting schemes for
transfer to the Psion.
2003-11-25
Version 1.29F (not publically released)
- New Features
- Added support for no unload number in the name of exported data
files.
- Fixes
- Reselects the telemetry switch relay (if applicable) when the
communications times out and the RTS signal is toggled. Previously, the
RTS toggle would cause telemetry switch relays to disconnect from the
data logger.
- Corrected vertical axis scaling in the Velocity Trace.
- Corrected a "divide by zero" error in the Velocity Trace.
- Other Changes
- Changed references to "scsoftware.com.au" to
"scss.com.au".
2003-07-22
Version 1.28F
- Fixes
- Lotus 1-2-3 export now works.
- Other Changes
- Lotus 1-2-3 export now three times faster.
2003-07-15
Version 1.27F
- New Features
- Can export unload files as text (tab or comma delimited) or Lotus 1-2-3
worksheet (WK1) files directly to the PC.
- Tweaked plot X-axis labelling. For example, if the steps between axis
ticks are exact multiple of 60 seconds, then there is no point showing
the seconds part which allows more significant parts such as hours to be
shown.
- Fixes
- No longer intermittently crashes (usually with the message 'Process exit
code 37') when using the Select Mode Window (Space) to switch
between modes.
- No longer continually reports 'Timeout' if the logger buffer viewer
function is selected when no data logger is connected. It will now give
up after a few attempts.
- Plot date/time range window now updates to correct values after
cancelling a zoom.
- Added checks to ensure only one copy of PsiLog can be running at
once.
2003-03-05
Version 1.26F
- Fixes
- No longer fails to transfer multiple unload files belonging to the same
scheme to the PC.
- No longer adds blank lines to V3 unload index files.
2003-02-11
Version 1.25F
- Fixes
- No longer intermittently shows "Invalid arguments" error upon
exiting PsiLog when in the Data Viewer mode, or when switching from the
Data Viewer mode to a different mode.
- No longer shows "String too long" message when there is not
enough memory to allocate the communications buffer.
2003-02-04
Version 1.24F
- New Features
- Total plotting time (including ranging and actual plotting) will in most
cases take 55% of the time compared to V1.23F - almost a doubling of
speed!
- Data viewer plot ranging now shows percentage progress.
- Data viewer plot ranging is faster for event-based schemes.
- Data viewer tabular view "Find date" is much faster
(practically instantaneous in many cases).
- Fixes
- Data viewer tabular view now correctly calculates the values of channels
using formulas that depend on the results of calculations involving
other formulas (for example, thermocouples and their cold junction
thermistor).
- Plot viewer no longer intermittently shows a shaded area when zooming
out.
2003-01-30
Version 1.23F (and PsiLog Link v1.4)
- New Features
- Many improvements to the Data Viewer plotting function:
- Determining the ranges is now about twice as fast.
- Zooming in on fixed log interval files is faster.
- Improved selection of log entry to plot.
- Date/time display window. This shows the date/time extents of the
currently selected range of unload data. It can be repositioned and
turned on and off.
- Labelling of the X-axis has been improved so that ticks appear at
sensible intervals (for example, on the hour, half-hour, etc, as
appropriate). It also allows for more ticks and labels to fit along
the axis.
- Labelling of the Y-axis has been improved to rescale when zooming in
to better fit the displayed data, to allow for more ticks, and to
minimise the size of the labels. Where appropriate, label values
will be rescaled to powers of ten, with powers rounded to multiples
of three.
- Addition of gridlines. New preferences allow the selection of none,
black, grey, solid, and dotted gridlines individually for each
axis.
- The Select Unload dialog now allows key presses to jump the highlight to
files starting with the key's character.
- Messages displayed by PsiLog Link have been altered to better indicate
the state of the link.
- Fixes
- Data viewer plot now correctly calculates the values of log entries
using formulas that depend on the results of calculations involving
other formulas (for example, thermocouples and their cold junction
thermistor).
- The Select Unload dialog now allows enough room to fully display the
unload filenames with character descenders (on letters like 'g' and 'y')
that were previously being chopped off.
- Other Changes
- Minor tweaks to the Version window and Mode Selection window.
2002-10-31

DWLR loggers and
schemes were not affected by this problem. Symptoms include an
"Overflow" error programming schemes (and subsequent failure to
program) and obviously incorrect dates (eg. year 2100). Unload files were
nevertheless intact and displayed correctly when transferred to the
PC, although the dates in the
unload file list were incorrect.
2002-07-30

This caused unloads to be significantly slower than they should have been
- sometimes failing altogether!
- Fixed problem with PsiLog failing to automatically delete unload files
after transfer to PC.
- Fixed problem with incremental unloading reverting to a full unload on
every other unload.
- Fixed serial communications attempting to send >1024 bytes to the
logger in one go (loggers cannot receive that much all at once).
- Fixed problems programming Version 2 software schemes (logger version
detection and KBD loading).
- Fixed problem where the unload selection dialog was using the scheme
program directory preference instead of the unload files directory

2000-06-21
Version 1.05B
This will be the final demo version before the software is released. There
have been no bug reports, so I assume the software is quite stable. There is no
new online help.
- New Features
- Added complete file transfer functions for the existing modules:
- Copying formulas from PC
to Psion
- Copying scheme files from
PC to Psion
- Copying unloaded data from Psion to
PC
- Synchronising IUP files between the
PC and the Psion
- Copying 'System' FTU files from the
PC to the Psion
- To remind you what window/mode PsiLog is in, there is a new Mode Display -
a black strip showing the current mode. It can be turned off via the User
Interface Preferences.
- Enhanced the Test Display module so that if you decide not to have a copy
of the formulas on the Psion, you can load FTU screens that don't use
formulas.
- The formulas (if you have any) now start loading immediately PsiLog starts
without waiting for the splash dialog to be acknowledged.
- Other Changes
- Now that Starlog software files are easily copyable from the
PC, they are no longer
distributed with the demo.
2000-06-10
Version 1.04B

- Formula loading is now twice as fast.
- Fixes
- Logger programming now works. Loggers are configured correctly and the
LCD display now shows up
with the correct text and no nasty boxes.
- The LCD display bug also
affected the Putting of strings by the Test display module.
2000-06-08
Version 1.03B
- New Features
- Logger programming implemented. However, you will need to copy the scheme
files to the Psion yourself for now. Set the directory in the
"Program logger preferences" dialog. PsiLog understands the
following Starlog Version 3 scheme files: LDR, CDT, KBD, INI. PsiLog
understands the following Starlog Version 2 scheme files: LDR, CDT, CFG,
KBD. Note that any Macro logger CFG files must have the same base name as
the scheme in order for PsiLog to find the CFG file. For example, if you
have a scheme called RMTEMP and it uses the MACRO32.CFG file, then
MACRO32.CFG must be copied as RMTEMP.CFG in order for it to work. Testing
has been performed only on a Red Starlogger, but programming should work
for all loggers.
- Logger unloading is faster. For MX-series machines (27.684MHz) it is about
160% faster, for older machines (7.68MHz) it is about 290% faster! All
Psion machines can now unload loggers in better than 110% of the time
taken by V3 software. To achieve this performance make sure the following
preferences have been set:
- General, User interface, Cache size: at least 8000 You will need
to exit and restart PsiLog for changes to this option to take
effect.
- General, Communications, Buffer size: at least 8500.
- Unload logger, Preferences, Request size: 4096 (this is the same as V3
software).
- The Unload logger mode window now shows memory usage information for the
Internal disk and any SSD
plugged into the A and B SSD
slots.
- The Test display mode now has a 'Scheme test display' option. This reads
the scheme name from the connected logger and automatically looks for the
relevant FTU file. Set the directory that holds these FTU files in the
Test display preferences dialog.
- Pressing the Spacebar will show you what mode/window the software is
in.
- Fixes
- Fixed an 'Overflow' error that sometimes appeared when loading FTU
screens.
- Fixed some 'Stray signal death' errors. Note that these messages have
changed to become System Panics - 'Process exited: Exit 143'.
- Other Changes
- The Test display 'Address' and 'Step size' options merged into one.
- Communications window preferences have changed slightly.
2000-02-06
Version 1.01B
- Other Changes
- Cosmetic release for change of name from PDLFTU to PsiLog, change of
program icon to use a Workabout look, and addition of SCSS logo to program
startup. The screen shots on this web page were updated to use Workabout
screen layouts instead of 3a/3c/3mx screen layouts.
1999-10-02
